Lucy Dacus Los Angeles Concert reviews
Phantom of the Operat was pure joy!
I treated my sister for her recent birthday, as I thought I was the only person in Broward County who hadn't seen Lucy Dacus. The stage itself was fantastic, with someone must have won an award for that. The music is flawless, but we all know the music from years back. The costumes were super, and the cast was amazing. Not a disappointing note, I found myself stunned at some of the singing... how could that sound come out of a mere mortal? It was glorious on so many levels! Lucy Dacus was extraordinary, Christine's voice was impeccable and so far-reaching, and Raul's strong and so complimentary. An opera within an opera, a ballet, a love story, choreography... the orchestra was equally wonderful. As one review I read said, 'this is not your parents' Phantom,' and how true that was! The 'effects' were delightful - the pyro, the water, the chandelier!! The theatre itself is just beautiful. The perfect show. We felt blessed that we experienced Phantom with this group. Sorry to learn at the end of the show that six of the actors were leaving after that performance. Just an evening of pure joy at the theatre. The only complaint was the parking ingress and egress.
